Business Support Office Hours (Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane)

To improve access to City resources for small businesses, the City's Small Business Liaison will offer regular in-person office hours at the Dove Library. These sessions will provide direct, personalized support to local businesses on navigating city processes.

These business office hour sessions serve as the first point of contact for business inquiries and are critical in helping the city understand emerging business needs and inbound leads. Topics may include:

  • Navigating city processes
  • Questions about business licenses
  • Understanding permitting requirements
  • Clarification on zoning
  • Determining correct business classifications and usage
  • Guidance on home-based vs. commercial operations
  • Assistance with signage regulations
  • Support with commercial code enforcement-related issues
  • Incentives, grants or other financial related support
  • Connection to external organizations or business activities
  • General navigation of city departments or contacts
