Aber Stoat Books & Publishing

Aber Stoat Books & Publishing, Est. 2024 We offer a curated selection of specialty books, community-focused literary events, and independent publishing services: Curated Independent Bookshop (Location Coming Soon): 90% Fiction. 100% Escapism. We are a romance-first bookstore that heavily embraces speculative fiction. Our focus is on young adult and adult romance, fantasy, thriller, science fiction, horror, and occult books. We have a smaller collection of graphic novels, and our bargain book section has something for all ages. Background: After two years of operating as an online and pop-up bookshop in Carlsbad, Aber Stoat has signed a contract for a physical location and will soon transition from pop-up and online only to a brick-and-mortar shop. Every special order and every purchase since 2024 has kept us on target for this step. Our priorities have been building community programming, bookseller education, and establishing connections with industry professionals and authors. More details coming soon. Independent Publishing & Distribution: Through Aber Stoat Publishing LLC, we champion local indie authors. We offer small-press publishing services, editing, design, digital content production, and audiobook distribution to amplify unique voices in the literary community. We also sell our authors’ books in our bookstore. Community Events & Literary Experiences: We actively foster Carlsbad’s reading culture by hosting the Olde Carlsbad chapter of the Silent Book Club and organizing interactive local events, including our community Audiobook Walk, movie nights, and occasional midnight book pickups for major releases. Books (romance, fantasy, science fiction, thriller, and occult genres), stationery, and book accessories.
